Ain’t Misbehavin’

Ain’t Misbehavin’
Georgia Ensemble Theatre
through November 21, 2021

If you are sick of watching politicians and discussions about spreading of diseases, then you should want to get geared up and get over to the Georgia Ensemble Theatre in Roswell. This is one of the most exhilarating musicals you may experience. It is done in a cabaret style as the cast of fantastic players weave through dozens of the numbers written by and performed by Fats Waller.

Waller was the son of a Preacher Man in the NYC area, and dived into music when he about 5 years old. And it makes you wonder how he created so many WWII standards when he passed away at only age 39 in 1943.

S. Renee Clark put together this show with five headliners who have the pipes and the steps to keep you clapping and wanting to sing and dance along with them. It’s as if you were in one of the jazz halls in Harlem and really digging it.

With choreography by Thomas W. Jones II, and tap choreography by Lauren Tatum.
the show features Fenner Eaddy, Jaymyria Etienne, Lawrence Flowers, Melodie Fort, & Latrice Pace.

But that ain’t all….. with a live band of players they really know how to hit them keys and blow them horns. If you love numbers like I Can’t Give You Anything But Love, or Your Feets Too Big, then you will fall in love with those high-stepping gents and the vamps who work with them. You will really understand why Fats could make sure that This Joint is Jumpin’
